ABSTRACT
This essay defends the June 2025 US bombing of Iranian nuclear facilities against criticisms from Blinken, Paul, MacGregor, and Stockman. While acknowledging that military strikes would achieve only temporary degradation of Iran's nuclear program and risk significant economic disruption through energy markets, we argue these costs are more than justified to prevent a nuclear-armed Iran. The analysis examines legal frameworks for anticipatory self-defense, regional dynamics, and philosophical tensions between constitutional procedures and strategic necessities. We conclude that despite offering no perfect solutions, military action represents the least dangerous option given the utter failure of sanctions and diplomacy, Iran's proximity to nuclear capability, and the catastrophic consequences of inaction.
